The telecom subscriber base within the nation grew marginally to 1,170.75 million in January, pushed by web buyer acquire within the fastened line section, in keeping with a sector regulator TRAI report launched on Friday.

Though Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel collectively added 0.29 million new prospects, the acquire was offset by BSNL and Vodafone Thought (VIL) shedding 0.28 million prospects.

Within the cellular telephony or wi-fi section, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel added 1.65 million and 1.28 million prospects, respectively. BSNL, VIL and MTNL mitigated the expansion within the section by shedding 1.48 million, 1.35 million and a couple of,960 cellular subscribers, respectively.
The broadband subscriber base within the nation grew to 839.18 million in January from 832.2 million in December.
“High 5 service suppliers constituted 98.39 per cent market share of the full broadband subscribers on the finish of January-23. These service suppliers have been Reliance Jio Infocomm (434.02 million), Bharti Airtel (237.40 million), Vodafone Thought (125.03 million), BSNL (27.05 million) and Atria Convergence (2.14 million),” TRAI mentioned.
